The course aims to provide an understanding of the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and the confidence to enable personnel to work safely in a potential H2S environment.

Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Prerequisites
Valid in-date offshore medical or fitness to work certificate (Valid within 12 months)
Course Outline
Delegates will acquire competence in the theory and practice of the following:
- Properties and Hazards of H2S
- Biological effects of H2S
- H2S Gas Monitoring Systems and Alarm Systems
- Contingency Plans – Muster/Safe Haven locations
- Basic Expired Air Resuscitation (EAR) / Life Support
- Breathing Apparatus/escape breathers familiarization
- Portable Gas Monitors
