The course aims to provide knowledge and skills for personnel to perform effectively as Helicopter Emergency teams with a strong emphasis on practical emergency fire work.

Physical and Stressful Demands

Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.

Prerequisites

Valid in-date offshore medical or fitness to work certificate (Valid within 12 months)

Course Outline

Understanding of helideck operations and safety requirements/ procedures (as per ICAO Standards)

  • The movements of passengers, baggage and cargo to and from helicopter
  • Familiarity with different helicopter types and their operation and emergency procedures
  • Ensuring adequate fire protection is provided for each take off and landing
  • Familiarity with management of dangerous good (DC)
  • Helicopter refueling and procedures (offshore)
  • Basic Marshalling signals
  • Shutdown and security of aircraft on helideck
  • Practical “live fire” drills and scenarios

Certification

TPTI certificate. Validity 3 years.
